elarus, the Senate of Pakistan and Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of B
elarus have formally signed a memorandum of understanding (Moue) to boost mutual trust and understanding.

elarus Chairman Mikhail Myasnikovich in Minsk, B
elarus on Thursday.
The Senate Chairman is in B
elarus with a parliamentary delegation to explore the possibilities of increased cooperatio
n between the two nations. Both sides agreed to increase cooperation in the areas of exchange of parliamentary delegations and secretarial staff, create Friendship Groups within both the parliaments and promote close int
eractio
n between the members of the Friendship Groups.
The Senate Chairman termed the MoU a new chapter in parliamentary relationship between the two countries. Both sides have agreed to develo
p a mechanism for yearly exchange of visits of the Senate Chairman and his B
elarusian counterpart and regular int
eraction of parliamentary delegations of the two countries at international parliamentary forums for shaping a consensus-based approach on various regional and international issues.
Promotion o
f capacity building of parliamentarians and human resource development through exchange of experiences, knowledge and expertise, implementation of study visits are some of the other important aspects of the MoU.
Earlier, the Senate chairman in a meeting with the B
elarusian President Alexander Lukashenko discussed the issues of mutual interest between the two countries. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation through improving parliamentary linkages for better social and economic ties.
